We know thanks to Google you’ve heard of the pill, condoms and the pull out method. But what about IUDs?
IUDs come in two T-shaped variations that can last for up to 5-10 years: a Mirvena or hormonal IUD and a non-hormonal copper IUD.
In 2016, NSW Family Planning saw a 15% increase in new IUD users in their NSW centres.
Family Planning physician Dr Mary Stewart said the IUD figures in 2017 continue to grow as the device gains popularity and exposure in Australia.
